Radiosurgery
Gamma knife and Cyber knife are the most advanced tools in Neurosurgery and Radiotherapy. Their goal is to mainly cause as less damage as possible around the sensitive areas of the brain and the bone marrow.
Stereotactic Radiosurgery is the ability to radiate one or more pathological process in the brain or the bone marrow with an extremely large dose of gamma (γ) radiation from multiple sources in one session. This modern technique is in the middle of neurosurgical techniques and radiotherapy and includes Gamma knife (that is knife radiating gamma radiation) and Cyber knife. These methods are used to treat a range of diseases, such as tumors, vascular malformations, trigeminal neuralgia, epilepsy, and so on.
